Explore Your Options (freshman status)
  • Explore 你的 interests 和 strengths with 你的 学术顾问 each semester

    • Narrow 你的 major/career choices by utilizing Focus2OU

  • Earn at least 28 credits 和 aim for a 3.0或更高的累积GPA

Engage in Your Major (sophomore status)

    • Now that you declared a major, you’ll meet with an 学术顾问 from 你的 school/college

    • Take part in at least two engagement activities across four key areas:  major/minor/career, 研究, campus/community 和 wellness.
  • Gain leadership skills through campus involvement

Gain Relevant Experience (junior status)

  • Narrow career options then search for 与求职经验
    • Employers expect 2-3 实习 before graduation. Now is the time to do 实习, co-ops, field placements, clinicals 和 patient-care experience.

  • Consider 你的 graduate/professional school options 和 prepare for admission to intended programs
    • Investigate graduate school options, 研究 the st和ardized tests 和 registration deadlines, 和 obtain letters of recommendation

Launch Your Future (senior status)

  • 访问 Career 和 Life Design Center to ensure you’re ready to apply for jobs or graduate/professional school

  • Proactively pursue multiple leads connecting to employment opportunities
    • Use more than one way to connect to prospective employers: continue to build a professional network, 参加招聘会, maximize job searching 和 networking features of social media
    • Consider alternatives to full-time employment like part-time jobs, 实习, volunteering or other experiences related to 你的 career goals
