活动准备

Hosting an event can seem like a daunting task.  As an event coordinator, you're likely to find yourself immersed in organizing speakers, 与会者, 餐饮, and everything in between. Planning for emergencies may quickly fall to a low priority, or even worse, no priority at all. But what happens if a tornado hits the building or an armed assailant shows up to your event? Are you prepared to ensure the safety of your guests?

The Office of 应急管理 (OEM) can help you prepare for these types of incidents. Don't worry, we won't take over planning your event. We will, however, help reduce your liability should the unthinkable happen.

What can OEM help coordinate?
  • Incident Action Plan (IAP) Development
  • Police/Fire/EMS 资源
  • 场地检查
  • Training for Event Staff
  • Event Staff Communication through the 校园广播系统
  • 威胁评估
  • 指挥所
  • 事件的命令
  • 交通 & 停车
Increase preparedness with three easy steps
  1. Tell us about your event as soon as you start planning it. We can't help you plan unless we know about your event. Not sure if you're event rises to the level of needing preparedness planning? Find out what qualifies as an event:

Events that meet the below criteria must be reported to the Office of 应急管理:

    • Events involving more than 1,000 participants (including organizers, 与会者, and honorees)
    • Events involving one or more high profile guests, including public figures and dignitaries such as municipal, 状态, or federal government representatives; foreign 状态 leaders and officials; diplomatic staff and other international delegates; celebrities; and public figures who attract media attention and/or raise concerns for security
    • Events that involve parking for vehicles or busses
    • Events beginning or occurring between the hours of 10 p.m. 6 a.m.
    • Events where admission is charged or tickets are sold

    • Events otherwise designated by the Chief of Police

  2. Meet with an 应急管理 Specialist to review your event and discuss preparedness plans. OEM will help you leverage the University's resources to make your event successful.

  3. Host your event with confidence knowing you are prepared for the unthinkable. Even though your guests may not see your preparedness plans in action, they will appreciate your level of planning for their well being.
