The 司法常务官办公室 is responsible for maintaining the personal information records of OU students. Read below to see how you can update your information and how the directory information is used.

OU students may submit their address changes online through the secure 帆 system under the 个人信息 section. The 帆 system allows convenient 24/7 online 访问 while keeping your information safe and secure through the password protected system. Online address changes through the secure 帆 system is the university’s preferred way for students to submit their address changes.

Students also may change their legal name in-person at either the 司法常务官办公室 or Student Financial Services. To process a name change in person, bring a photo ID and legal documentation such as a marriage license, divorce decree or other court document that clearly connects the two names to the same individual.

按照 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, 365英国上市官网 gives notice, through the online 课程时间表, that it may release certain data about individual students as directory information. 目录信息 may be released without a student’s permission. 365英国上市官网 considers the following items to be directory information: 
  • 名字。

  • 出生日期和地点 
  • 主修领域 
  • Participation in officially recognized activities and sports 
  • Weight and height of members of athletic teams 
  • 度, honors and awards received, including scholarships and eligibility for inclusion in national honor societies 
  • 度 for which the student has applied 
  • Most recent previous educational institution attended by a student 
  • 出席日期 
  • 类代码 
  • Photographic or electronic images including ID card pictures 
  • 注册状态
  • School of 医学 residency match results

Students who do not want directory information released in any other form should submit the Confidentiality - Request to Withhold 目录信息 (谷歌).  目录信息 will be withheld until the student requests that it be removed by submitting the Confidentiality - Request to Remove (谷歌).

Students who wish for clarification of their rights under the act may contact the 教务长, the university hearings officer for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. More information can be found in Policy 470, Release of Student Educational 记录.

Students who do not want directory information to appear on the OU website but do not want to request confidentiality can restrict release of such data by doing the following:

  1. 登录 帆

  5. Select 目录配置文件
  6. 所以取消了 在目录中显示 option for items you wish to not appear in the Web directory

Updating, changing or deleting preferred first name can be completed through My帆.
